Having the blush pointed out only makes his ears and face burn more. His tail smacks against the ground as he lets out a frustrated growl.

"I didn't ask you. And I am not that desperate."

"Wasn't the original problem that he was not paying you enough attention?" Vergil presses. He is not doing this for Dante's sake at all, but of course his brother has misunderstood it, looking at him with grateful eyes.

Vergil has to stop that somehow. "Shut up," he growls at him. This has no affect on Dante.

His wings tense visibly, then flap hard.

"Because I was bored out of my hilt! Not because I wanted him flirting with me. I do have standards, you know."

"Are you done with that grocery list?" is all Vergil asks in return as he holds his hand out, completely ignoring what he feels is useless denial.

"I have standards, too!" Dante says, to which Vergil laughs mockingly and is ignored. "You just happen to meet them."

"Yeah yeah, here."

He shoves the paper at Vergil. His handwriting is incredibly awkward looking, and some words are misspelled, but it's not impossible to puzzle out.

"Sorry about the handwriting, I don't write in English a lot. And as for you..." He points at Dante. "What makes you think you meet mine?"

Vergil could say he's almost entertained enough to stay. But the fact is, he's more embarrassed for the both of them than anything. So, shaking his head, he accepts the paper and takes off without any other words.

"I mean," Dante says, placing his arms behind his head, "I meet everyone's expectations."

"I think that says more about what people actually expect from you."

He crosses his arms, but he can't do much to stop his face from being a brilliant shade of violet.

Dante comes in closer. He leans in, pressing his hands to the bar on either side of Alastor. "You wouldn't be blushing if you really hated it," he says, his tone a casual sort of accusing.

Oh...that is very close. His tail curls around and squeezes a leg of the stool in an effort to distract himself, but it doesn't do much good.

"I..." His wings flutter, generating a slight breeze. His hands are clinging to his own knees, as though he doesn't trust them not to do something stupid otherwise. "Well...alright, so maybe what I hate is the fact that I don't hate it...still, that's..."

"Remember what I said last night?" Dante currently feels like he's achieved something, and of course that means he has to push - it's just his way. "I brushed my teeth now."

Yes, he'd found a way to do it in the middle of all the rubble. That's how determined he was! His left hand settles on Alastor's shoulder, and squeezes it beneath his fingers.

Without his armor, the touch is much more direct. His wings flutter faster, his nerves showing through in the one part of his body he can't redirect to something else. After a moment, he sighs.

"I really am transparent, aren't I..." Everyone had figured out he wasn't the slightest bit evil long before he'd been ready to admit it, too. He shifts a bit in his seat, but when he puts a hand over Dante's, it isn't to push it off of him. Without gloves, it's evident that his body is slightly warmer than that of a human, but there's something distinctly human-like in the gentleness of his grip.

"Just a little." Okay, Dante was understating. But he didn't feel like rubbing it in. He recognizes that would just erase the progress already made.

He turns his hand in Alastor's grip, holding onto the other's hand now. He leans in closer, but doesn't quite dare to kiss - he's a little afraid that tsundere streak is going to come back.

At least he's not getting stabbed.

"Guess there's not much point being stubborn."

Retracted, his claws resemble ordinary fingernails, albeit very sharp ones. It makes it easy for him to close his hand around Dante's without scratching him. He takes a deep breath...then coughs.

"...You still need a real shower, though. You smell like literal Hell."

"!!"

Dante is surprised by that, he hadn't been expecting it at all. But he probably should have?

"I'll be back down in ten minutes."

...it would probably be bad to invite him along right?

"Heh..." He rubs his nose, but there's a faint smile on his face despite the stench. "I'll be waiting."

Dante lets go of his hand, reaching up and brushing his fingers against Alastor's cheek, then turning and running towards the bathroom.

He's going to shower so fast!!

He brushes a hand over his cheek before relaxing his tail so he can stand up. For a minute or so, he just wanders around the lobby, lost in thought...but he's soon distracted from that by a darkening of the sky. It's not clouds, he would know, and it's way too early for sundown...something's wrong. A thought that's confirmed when the darkness washes over Devil May Cry, along with a feeling of raw despair completely unrelated to his empathy.

When Dante gets back out, he'll find a note resting on Alastor's stool, written in Ancient Greek.

'Sorry to run off, but something about this shroud of darkness seems familiar. I'm going to investigate, but it shouldn't take long. I think I know where I need to check. - Alastor'

"..."

Dante is torn between annoyed that Alastor left, and annoyed that he didn't take him with him! The only hope he has left is that it's going to take Vergil longer to get back than Alastor - he wants that damn kiss.

Crumpling up the note, he sits on the stool and waits.

Fortunately, it doesn't take that long at all. The sky clears up in a few more minutes, and the air ripples shortly after. Alastor steps through in his battle gear, which quickly shifts to the casual outfit he settled on earlier.

"Sorry 'bout that, something of an emergency. Apparently I wasn't the only real demon kicking around Movieland...honestly, it explains a lot."

Dante, for his own part, is wearing some black leather pants and a thin red shirt that's tight enough to accentuate his muscles. Yes, he was trying to show off. He looks real glad that Alastor got back quickly, but he doesn't answer what he said yet - he can't keep waiting any longer.

Stepping forward, he grabs the other man by the waist and greets him by trying to initiate a kiss.

Well...embarrassed as he might be about liking Dante's personality, he can't really argue he doesn't have a nice body. He has just enough time to register that thought before he's swept into a kiss, one that isn't ruined by Hell stench this time. His ears turn violet again as he briefly registers how absurd it is that he's enjoying this, but he is, one of his hands even finding its way into Dante's hair.

Dante's kiss is firm, despite the fact his lips are actually very soft. He reflects on the fact that this was definitely worth the wait, his other hand sneaking around so he can feel up Alastor's butt, very thoroughly.

No regrets at all. He's never kissed a demon before, but it actually isn't all that different.

The main difference that marks Alastor's inhuman nature is the fact that his breath smells distinctly of ozone...until, that is, his tail snakes its way around Dante's waist. He chuckles slightly at the hand on his butt, and pulls back just enough for Dante to be able to see him raise an eyebrow behind his sunglasses. Though still steadily bright, the light behind them seems to have taken on a softer quality.

"Impatient, huh?"

"You're just too damn hot," Dante responds. The tail around his waist is exciting in a way he never expected. He likes it a whole lot. "How am I supposed to resist you?"

"Gotta say...you look pretty good in that shirt, yourself. But I think..." He uses his free hand to remove his sunglasses, finally showing his eyes directly. They appear to be solid white, glowing steadily and casting odd shadows over his face. "There. Stylish as the glasses are, everything looks the same color through them."
