[ His name is Tony and he's, well, more than a little confused. In his confusion, he's managed to find his way from where he was in Red Grave to a city a distance away - one that happened to contain Sparda's Mansion.
It's not that he knows what the mansion is. It's not that he has a clue why he's found himself here. But the familiarness of it all - despite the state of disrepair - is enough to keep him wandering through the decrepit building.
He's distracted enough that he's not listening for sounds, and it'd be pretty easy for someone to sneak up on him. ]
[Who knows what compels Vergil to come to the mansion besides some sense of self-flagellation. That really might be it, sometimes you need to torture yourself a little.
But he sure expected to be alone. The moment he hears a footstep, he's already moving silently to find it, and it's only another moment before there's the end of a sword, still sheathed, against Tony's spine.]
[ Tony spreads his arms wide, as if he's giving up automatically and giving in. He doesn't move other than that, except for one small thing - to raise one of his fingers on each hand in a classic 'flipping of the bird'. ]
[ Out of the two halves of Dante, the devil Redgrave was the one to get all the memories. Tony's just left clueless and with feelings of where he should be.
[ He lowers his arms and turns. His nose wrinkles as he studies Vergil - a nose that might look very familiar. He shares enough features with Dante for it to be eery, but not enough for it to hit as the same person. ]
Oh he does not like that. It's a normal name, but under the circumstances? Fuck off with that. He glares, eyes narrowing all the more as he grinds his teeth.]
You really want me to believe you have no idea where you are, and yet it somehow compels you.
[ He offers it as a question, but it's true enough. He remembers his wanderings, but that's pretty much it. What has he got to back up his feelings? Nothing whatsoever. ]

Don't. Move.

What do you think you're doing here. You'll want to give me a good reason to let you leave.

And he feels like he should be here right now. ]
I felt compelled to come here.

[ He wants to see his... assailant? by face, at least. Then he can figure out why this guy is so keen on him not being here. ]

I know you from somewhere. What's your name?

I highly doubt that. As much as you should know whose house you're poking around.
[...But...]
...Vergil.

[ Tony's not surprised at this point. Why else would the so-called vergil have reacted the way he did? Apparently, he was trespassing. ]
Can't say it's nice to meet you, Vergil. I'm Tony.

[...But he's still talking to this guy instead of just killing him. Probably the most conversation he's had in years, even.]

[ Tony accentuates this with a firm nod. ]
