Came to realize I didn't really want to be Joe's enemy. Don't get me wrong, he's still a headache and a half, but the last time we talked was on friendly terms.

...Should probably check in on him, really. I expect he's had a hectic week of his own.

[ Nero looks relieved, for which Dante gives him an odd look, then he addresses what Alastor said. ]

We could go back to the human plane and you could call him?

Might be a good idea. Kinda curious how Silvia's doing, too. She just got her father back last week, after all.

[ Nero gets a strange look on his face, but Dante doesn't say anything about it. ]

Good for her.

[He raises an eyebrow, but decides not to press. Instead, he calls up a gate out of Purgatorio, digging in his pocket for a phone as he crosses through.]

Shouldn't take too long, I'll try not to let him ramble.

[ Nero and Dante cross over after Alastor does, and Dante is trying to think of a way to distract his nephew from thinking about Vergil. ] Hey kid, show me the engagement ring. Let's leave him alone.

[ Well, Nero had been planning on eavesdropping, but. ]

Sure.

A bit of privacy would be nice.

[And so he'll step into another room as he makes his call.]

Heya, checking in after-huh? ...You have? Wait, you've been trying to call in Movieland, haven't you? ...Yeah, uh, I've actually been in the real world this past week. ...Wait, did I not tell you? I'm from the real world. ...Wait, are you serious? Me? ...Well yeah, of course I'm flattered, it's just...it's really not that long ago I was a villain. A full Heel Face Turn is a pretty big change. ...Oh shut up, what do you know? ...I'll think about it. Tell him to call me tomorrow, from the real world this time.

[ Dante steps towards the door, raising a finger to his lips. He's listening closely, something which makes Nero shake his head and laugh. Nero steps away for the moment to retrieve the ring. ]

Anyway, how's Silvia doing? ...Yeah, I imagine it would be. Sounds like the old man's doing pretty well, though, all things considered. What about your own pops? ...Well, can't say I'm surprised. He was only just released from that demon's thrall. ...I dunno, I'm pretty busy lately. ...You'll find out later. ...Sorry, not telling. ...You know, I can't hear you pouting over the phone. ...No, I'm not going to make it a video call! ...For one thing, I'm in someone else's apartment. It'd be rude.

[ Nero comes back and makes no secret of trying to listen as well. Dante reaches for the ring box and he slaps his hand away - he's not letting anyone else touch it.

He's a bit entertained by the modern slang and references that Alastor is using. ]

Speaking of rude...

[He moves the phone away from his face and shoots a glance back toward the bathroom.]

Didn't I ask for some privacy?

[brokenfuse]

Whoops. [ Dante sounds a little apologetic, at least. ] We'll go to another room.

[ Nero grabs Dante's wrist, just to make sure of it, and drags him to the living room. ]

[He sighs, then goes back to his call. A few minutes later, he walks into the living room himself, pocketing his phone as he goes.]

Well, sounds like everyone's doing alright.

[ Nero has the box open at this point, showing off the ring. Dante looks pretty impressed, and they both look up when Alastor comes in. ]

Great! So when do I get to meet them?

Gonna be getting a call tomorrow to set up a meeting with Captain Blue. He's got...well, let's call it a casting offer for me. Wouldn't be surprised if Joe turns up, too.

More movies?

[ Now Nero looks immensely interested. ]

Yeah, he wants to set up a new movie based on Captain Blue Jr. taking over Viewtiful Joe's role as the world's greatest defender. And, um...

[The next part is mumbled, impossible to make out.]

We can't hear you.

[ Dante can tell it's embarrassing, so if course he's going to push. ]

He wants me to... [Mumble mumble]

Don't be embarrassed. It's just us.

He wants me to be part of the kid's team, alright?!

[He is absolutely embarrassed. He only recently accepted he feels compassion in the first place, and now he's being recruited for a superhero squad?]

[ Nero can't help but look excited at that. ] That's great! What a cool story move!

[ Dante just looks puzzled, as he doesn't get why it's embarrassing. ]

I guess...I know I am popular with the fans, just...look, if someone had suggested this before this week, I'd have told them they were crazy. I've never really thought of myself as hero material.

That time with the kid was special circumstances! And I owed the woman in that time loop town a debt.

You're changing. [ Dante gets up and heads over to Alastor, putting a hand on his shoulder and squeezing it. ] Accepting new parts of yourself and becoming open to them. That's making you evolve.

I guess, it's just...a big decision to make. Especially since when I'm in Movieland, it's not just a role on a screen. In there, it's all as good as real.
